The 6 Signs of Fat Loss

Absolutely the most important thing for me when i’ve started a workout/diet program is to know that im actually gaining something out of it. When it comes to exercise there are the obvious benefits of fitness and endurance but for most of us it comes down to fat loss/weight loss. Shedding those extra pounds is why most of us do it and getting fitter and healthier is usually secondary. While this might not be the way it should be more often than not it is.

So if you are in the middle of a program or are about to start one, its important to know exactly what the signs are of losing fat. Fat loss occurs when we burn more calories than we consume everyday. Here are six signs of fat loss that you should look out for to know that you are in the “fat loss zone”:

1. Less Alert, Less Lucid and slow

Basically you are going to be less lucid most of the time, feeling like you haven’t woken up properly. While this sound alarming, it’s not that bad and feeling it means your workout/diet is working for you. After a few days you get used to it and it starts to feel a little lessy foggy all the time. Take care not to drive or do anything that could get you hurt if it feels overwhelming.

2. Semi-Permanent Hunger

Another sign is when you feel hungry all the time. In my current setup i eat 5 small meals a day. Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner. Since im in that fat loss zone, I feel hunry all the time. I could eat another full meal at almost any given time. While what im feeling is extreme, it could be the same or close for you too. And you could end up seeing, smelling food everywhere you go.

3. Sore Muscles

This one is a bit obvious if you are working out but you might end up with sore mucles a lot longer than you normally would have if you were training on a standard diet. If you are working remember to make sure your protein intake is the amount you need.

4. Can’t wake up in the morning

On a normal day i find it hard to wake up, but this is a feeling like you really need to push yourself to get up, and like the lack of alertness its something you get used and it only gets better with time. One way to combat this is to sleep a little bit earlier and get as much rest as possible.

5. Easily Fatigued

You will get tired a bit more easily doing normal day to day activities. Even the start of a workout could be a little challenging but once you break through it, things will be back to normal. For example, after a long day of work you might end up being more tired than you usually are.

6. Easily Angered

Yeah, that temper could get a bit shorter. All the reasons i have talked about so far are going to make you a little edgy and easily emotional so watch out for this one since we don’t want you to say something you might regret to someone.

There you go, its important to know that you are feeling what you are feeling for a reason. Knowing this is good because it provides extra motivation for you to continue your workout/diet since you know that its working. I don’t recommend being on a fat loss program for too long so look to keep them to around three months at a time with a recovery period every three weeks.
