I have been counting calories for some time now, but one thing i never actually looked at was sugar. That not being a lot, what’s the problem with sugar? Its the calories in sugar AND the carbs, they are called “empty” calories. That is because sugar does not have any nutritional value, but that is only one part of the problem.
It is all about the carbs, of course. It is one thing to get your carbs from fruits and vegetables that contain fiber and other healthy micronutrients, which slow down the absorption of sugar into your bloodstream, but it is a quite another deal when you flood your bloodstream with pure sugar, which spikes your insulin.
Calories in sugar, the bottom line Sugar is not evil, but too much sugar is not good for you. Too many calories that come from sugar are not good for your waistline and or your health either. Remember that!
