I was just surfing around looking at the various nutritional details on different fast food outlets when i noticed that Quiznos has finally published the nutritional information on their website. Its now available via link on the main top menu titled “nutritional information”. Quiznos calories, just looking through the numbers now, is quite scary. Most of the calorie figures (not to mention the sodium and fat levels) are very high, with the least amount of calories in a submarine sandwich was 880 calories on the Turkey Ranch & Swiss, while the highest was on the classic Tuna Melt sub, with an absolutely staggering 1780 calories. The subs are not the only culprits. Even the salads, like the chicken Caesar salad with dressing are a massive 1000 calories.
The strangest thing is that on their own nutritional information pdf, they have a message outlining the maximums you should be eating.
Recommended limits for a 2,000 calorie daily diet are 20 grams of saturated fat and 2,300 milligrams of sodium. Recommended limits may be higher or lower depending upon daily calorie consumption. A 2,000 calorie diet is used as the basis for general nutrition advice; individual calorie needs, however, may vary.
Its odd that they would put this and still produce the high calorie subs and expect people to obliterate their entire daily allowance with one meal. Just think, if you combine a sub, a drink and a salad, you could easily carve out about 2000+ calories.
There are way too many items for me to list here, but you can download the pdf and a look for yourself.
