Low Calorie Alcoholic Cocktail Drink Recipes

The following are low calorie alcoholic cocktail recipes I got in an email and some that I found online. I will be adding more as soon as I find some. Note that these are recipes for low calorie cocktails you can make yourself. It is unlikely that you will find anything that you could get in a bar in this list. Sangria Sparkler

Makes: 12 servings
750-milliliter bottle dry red wine
1 cup light orange juice
1/4 cup brandy or cognac
1/4 cup orange liqueur
2 tablespoons sugar
2 medium oranges, sliced
2 cups club soda, chilled
Crushed ice and/or orange peel curls (optional)

In a large pitcher, combine wine, orange juice, brandy, orange liqueur, sugar, and orange slices. Chill at least 2 hours. Add club soda before serving. Serve over crushed ice and/or with orange peel curls, if desired.

Pina Colada Cooler

1 1/2 ounces coconut-flavored rum
3 ounces pineapple juice
4 ounces sparkling water
1 tablespoon of Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut Lite (found in the drink mixers section of many supermarkets)

Pour ingredients over ice and stir.

Mojito

1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 lime
3 sprigs mint
1.5 ounces light rum
soda water

Put the sugar in a highball glass (or any 8-12 ounce glass), squeeze in the juice of 1/2 small lime, and toss in the squeezed lime shell. Add mint sprigs and muddle for a moment. Then add the light rum and handful of ice, and fill with chilled soda water.

Bombay Magic

Half a shot glass Cointreau
1/4 shot glass of Tequila or Vodka
lemon juice
club soda
mint leaf

Squeeze 1/2 lemon. Pour half a shot glass of Cointreau, 1/4 shot glass of either tequila or vodka. Top it off with club soda. Use a mint leaf for garnishing.

    I would recommend that ANYONE that is trying to lose weight should not consume alcohol. It taxes your system and it fights the progress you may be making in the gym and in the kitchen.

    If you drink 6 So-Cos and diet lemonadesCokes as oppose to 6 500mls beers you can save yourself from consuming approx. 1100Cals!

    I’ve had a hard time finding low-cal drinks that I actually enjoy drinking. I feel like some of them have so much sugar in them that they can’t be low calorie. I’ve tried a couple drinks made with TyKu, the liqueur, and they are awesome. It has a light taste, but still has so much flavor you can even just mix it with soda and be good! Hard to believe your drinking a low calorie drink. Has anyone tried or heard of it??

    I’ve made both a mojito and a version on sangria with sake before! It’s a lot lower in calories, but still has a great taste and is still alcohol! My favorite to use is TYKU, because it has such a rich taste! Try it next time!

    I’ve been on Weight Watchers now for 4 months and have lost 20 lbs. I love my vodka and tonic so I have started using diet tonic with the vodka. I now found a low calorie vodka called Voli, suppose to have less the calories in regular vodka and it’s good.

    This article is great. I know my comment may never be read but I feel like I must voice my opinion…I find nothing more irritating than when someone says “if you are losing weight you shouldnt drink, you shouldnt do this or that”. These people are clearly aware that careless consumption of ANY beverage is detrimental to their diet so they are being proactive, planning ahead and trying to find the best option with out completely cheating themselves of something they want, regardless of what it is.

    My point: Answer the question and please do not harp on people who are trying to lose weight, and please do not lecture them on how to do it. They are aware that what they are doing is not beneficial to their weight-loss regimen however they are just simply trying to limit the effects by choosing drinks that are the lesser of the two evils. Please…cut them some slack.

    I enjoy Gin and Diet Tonic (less calories than wine)

    1 or 1/2 jigger of gin “Gordons” or your favorite
    1 whole lime – juiced
    fill glass with ice
    then top with ‘diet’ tonic

    Delicious and Refreshing.

    No offence, but for those people who keep saying ‘never drink’, that isn’t really the purpose of this webpage haha! Looks like drinking less will be a start though, sadly! Mind you, with all that extra energy you can burn off the extra calories through climbing buildings, defacing Conservative (UK) bilboards, and chasing squirrels etc.

    I’m not in a weight-loss program myself, but I am planning a surprise birthday party for my best friend who is on Weight-Watchers. I stumbled across this while searching for lower-calorie drinks to serve. I have heard from several personal trainers that vodka (plain, of course) has, on average, fewer calories than other spirits (rye/gin/tequila/etc). If that’s the case, you should try my regular beverage: plain vodka (I prefer Stoli or Grey Goose) and Sprite Zero. Light, refreshing, fizzy. For fun, you can add a splash of OJ (pure, not the sugary stuff) or drop in a frew frozen berries for colour.

    I couldn’t agree more with Shelley & Bri!! If “Thor” is against NEVER drinking while dieting why is he on this site looking for low calorie cocktails? All work and no play can burn a person out and that will definitely “tax your system” and “fight the progress”. People that get burned out on dieting and exercising quit and that’s a fact.

    I LOVE Coconut rum and club soda. I think that Malibu has about 60 cals/oz and Club soda has no Calories or very little. It is super refreshing and a nice light drink.

    I love Crystal Light-you can have pretty much any flavor drink for only 5 calories plus the liquor (around 80 calories per ounce of either rum, tequila or vodka)-the mojito & marguarita kinds are great-I just wish they were sold all the time! The lemonade & raspberry lemonade taste great too :-)
