How do these items affect the thickness of the shake:
Ice( is more thicker or less ice thicker? )
Blender Speed - I have a 12 speed, should I use a low speed or a high speed (for thicker shake)
Time-If I let it run longer, will that increase thickness or decrease it?

Thanks in advance.

This is what I call my MEGA Protein Shake (about 46oz). I make this at times after a real intense heavy workout and consume 4hrs before bed time. All ingredients are organic. Ok, now I give a range just in case some people like it more creamy or not. So for the creamier add the whole banana and less ice. You can also adjust the serving fruit size as well. For a particular flavor, such as strawberry, match the juice with the yogurt and the fruit for maximum flavor and smell. If you are indifferent then mix as you see fit.

16oz (Soy Vanilla Milk - 12 grams of protein &180 calories or Preferred Juice - varies on nutrition)
1 cup - 1 cup 1/4 of ice (Crushed or Not)
1/2 - 1 Banana ( 70-100 calories)
1 Serving of Greek Yogurt (Preferred Flavor - Brown Cow 14 grams of protein &140 calories)
1 cup of fruit (Your Preference - varies on calories)
2 Scoops of NOW Protein (Unflavored - 50 grams of protein & 210 calories)

Thanks for all the great shake recipes. I needed some new ideas as I'm on a 2 shake a day diet that's working great for me, but I needed some ideas for different flavors.

Just a question... I had been doing the slim fast shakes, but now that they came out with their new design and cost a lot more, I don't want to spend money on that. I have been looking for recipes that I could make at home, and I was wondering if these smoothies are similar to a weight loss shake? I do not know much about this, and I know that you need a lot of extra protein when exercising, but do these protein shakes work as meal replacement as well?

Also, has anyone tried making up a large batch of these smoothies to have for the week or a few days? I don't have the time to make a shake every single day like this, and thus liked the convenience of slim fast pre made shakes. I was trying to find a recipe that I could make in bulk, and perhaps portion into empty water bottles or something to make them 'grab and go' ready. Obviously some would depend on expirations of individual ingredients, and would probably not last more than a few days, but would it be ok to make up a batch sunday night to have ready for the mornings of the work week?

Thanks for the great recipes! I am really new at this protein shake thing! I am trying to lose weight and be leaner. I noticed some of the shakes said weight gainer on them. How do I know which ones I should use and which ones I shouldn't? I would really love a response!

Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for sharing. Now my breakfast & post-workout smoothies are never boring. I used to dread drinking my protein smoothie & now I can't wait.
Here is one I just made up & it tastes soooo good.

Creamy Blackberry Smoothie

1 scoop vanilla whey protein
1 Cup frozen blackberries
1 Cup low fat milk
1 tbs heavy cream (I used 2 spoons half&half)
2 tbs low fat cottage cheese (yes, don' skip this one)
2 packets of stevia

ice cubes are optional - I didn't add any this time as the blackberries were frozen solid.

Yum, so good. Enjoy!
